Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor who is well-known for his roles on the popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. While in college, he started to take an interest in acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. While he has appeared in movies as well as on TV, it is the characters portrayed on small screens that has earned him fame. The ability of his characters to appear from both sides of the law is what has caught the attention of audiences. He was the role of a serial killer in his debut television show and then later played an NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on the smaller screen, he's been nominated numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards. The actor is famous for his blue-piercing eyes, which have become an iconic feature and have helped to portray tough characters with charisma. People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured him.
