Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small community located in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's Island. It is the West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is a large area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time was not long in the city. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. She wanted to become a professional dancer but due to her rapid development spurt, she exceeded the size of her dancing partners. In an article published in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. When I outgrew my male counterparts I stopped. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance of the drama instructor at her high school that inspired her to start acting. The teacher suggested that she pursue a role for the annual school production. She was the teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the school's annual show. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Through the years since Brugel has been offered roles in over 60 plays on the big and small screens receiving the greatest attention when she was offered the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actress in the season 1 which was only seen in a few episodes.

He pursued acting classes at University of Colorado at Boulder.
